This weekend at Midnight- Guest DJ Scary Dave, Silver Dragon Studios, Free giveaway's! 04/16/05

This week we'll be hosting a send-off party for DJ Solaries, who was
selected as one of the DJs who'll be spinning out on the West Coast
for Convergence--quite an honor. And that's just the beginning of
what we have planned for you. Read on for more...

Saturday will definitely be a night of hot music at The Meeting
Place, with DJ Solaries showing off the skills that won her a much-
coveted DJ spot at Convergence (, and DJ Phae
on board. This request-friendly pair of Midnight residents will be
joined by Scary Dave, one of the sparkplugs of the Trojan Whores RHPS
company. Dave, who has also done numerous guest spots, has been a
resident himself at Orpheus. He's promised to serve up some "New
Post-Punk & Electro (Killers, Snow Patrol, Bravery, Yeah Yeah Yeahs,
The Faint) and Old '80s New Wave, Punk & Post Punk (Joy Division,
Cure, Siouxsie, Clash, The Damned)." Along with "a little Classic
Industrial (Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Skinny Puppy) thrown in for
flavor." Come prepared to rock out.

Silver Dragon Studios will be vending again this Saturday. Everyone
we know who has ever examined their wares can testify that not only
do they offer high quality jewelry, but it's priced very reasonably
indeed. Bring a few extra bucks and pick up something for yourself,
your sweetie, or whoever--whether it's a beautiful necklace or just
one of the irreverent collection of bumper stickers Thomas is also
famous for selling.

Of course there'll be free stuff. Let's start with the drawing
prizes. As a reminder that they'll be performing live at Nation on
April 28, we've got CDs from Assemblage 23 and backandtotheleft for
you, as well as a great synthpop compilation, the latest disc from
Fektion Fekler, and some copies of the newest CD from
IndustrialnatioN. So don't forget to fill out one of the slips on
the literature table and put it in the cauldron for your chance to

Lest there be any doubt, we'll also provide free cake. We're
celebrating the birthdays of Willow, Jude, and Jennifer Hicks's pal
Melanie on Saturday, so there will be several choices available for
our pastry-loving crowd around the witching hour at the tables
nearest the Back Hall entrance. (H.B. also to Danielle W. and Brix!)

Naturally the first dozen guests of week will, as always, be admitted
without paying any cover charge; and they, along with other
earlybirds, will get to enjoy our bowl of free candy and The Meeting
Place's two-for-one drinks deal from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. So come down
early and help get the party started!

Don't forget that The Meeting Place now offers some delicious burgers
and chicken sandwiches in addition to the traditional sandwich menu.
Hungry? Chow down beside your friends instead of at home with those
annoying relatives and roomies.

So come on down to Midnight this Saturday, and help show DJ Solaries
we're behind her 100% as she represents us and D.C. at one of the
goth scene's most important annual events. Hope to see you out!
